Day 2Leh Local & AcclimatizationVisit the Shanti Stupa (sunrise/sunset view), Leh Ladakh Palace (from the outside for minimum climbing), and the local Leh Market. This is a light sightseeing day.Leh (11,000 ft)
Day 3Leh to Nubra ValleyDrive over the Khardung La Pass (the world’s highest motorable pass). Later, visit Diskit Monastery and the giant Buddha statue. Have a Bactrian (double-humped) camel safari in the Hunder sand dunes.Hunder/Diskit (10,000 ft)
Day 4Nubra Valley to Pangong TsoDrive along the scenic Shyok River road. The route is beautiful, passing through rugged mountains and quaint villages. Arrive at Pangong Tso (3 Idiots Lake) by afternoon. Check into your campsite and enjoy the spectacular changing colors of the lake.Pangong (14,000 ft)
Day 5Pangong Tso to LehWake up early to witness the spectacular sunrise over Pangong Lake. Drive back to Leh via the Chang La Pass (one of the world’s highest passes). On the way back, visit the famous Hemis Monastery or Thiksey Monastery on the way back.Leh (11,000 ft)
Day 6Sham Valley / Buffer DayOption A (Relax): Keep this as a buffer day in case of any delays on the road, or just to unwind. Option B (Sightseeing): Day tour to the Magnetic Hill, the Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and Sangam -(The Confluence of the Indus and Zanskar Rivers).Leh (11,000 ft)
